When we consider the topic of being famous, the first thing that comes to mind is money and social reputation. But being famous is really the best option when it comes to enjoying the life. This essay will look into the advantages and disadvantages of being famous.
Many argue that being famous is the wisest choice as it allows you to have more money and there is no denying that being famous is also a reasonable course of action for those who wish to travel around the world, stay in luxury hotels and attend to concerts or sports events without paying anything. Yet, there are factors like anonymity or gossip columns that should also be taken into account in order to make the best choice. There is much more to life than just money or social reputation. According to the latest research, 75% of British citizens value anonymity over money. Also, if you consider the fact that not having to constantly worry about photographers following you at any time plays a crucial role in preventing the whole world from knowing your life, and then being famous does not seem to be such a great idea after all. Moreover, not being famous has two additional major advantages, namely real friends and the fact that you don’t have to sign autographs. If you don’t want that people take advantage of you only for being a celebrity, then should definitely be out of the question. And last, but certainly not least, you must consider whether stopping on the street when people ask you for an autograph is an issue for you. If so, then not being famous is likely to be a much better option for you. To sum up, although on the face of it being famous, sounds like a good idea when it comes to enjoying the life, a more in-depth analysis suggests otherwise. In fact, most evidence points to the fact that if anonymity, gossip columns, not being stopped to sign autographs and prevent from people who love you for the interest is what you are after, then not being famous will probably work best for you.
